Born in Erie, Pa on January 9, 1973, Cosmo Barbaro grew up in Edinboro, PA were he attended General Mclane High School and was a three sport athelete. He was introduced to art and furniture design at Edinboro University of PA were he earned a B.F.A in
woodworking in 1996,
After recieving his B.F.A. he attended the Rochester
Institute of Technology’s school for American craftsmen, were he recieved his M.F.A. in furniture design in 1999. Mr. Barbaro has worked at several universities as a assistant professor in furniture
design, and has run numerous university furniture studios. He aslo has experience in the furniture industry were he worked as a prototype designer. In 2006
He was commissioned by a designer in upstate New York to build two one of a kind Steinway
art case pianos. Currently he is in the process of building his studio and starting his own business. |
