Description

Minimal Stool is solid 2-inch poplar that has large finger joints that connect the back to the seat.  The Minimal Stool back and seat are ebonized with black milk paint.  I use the Real Milk Paint company.  https://www.realmilkpaint.com/ .   Lathe work in the seat has a is dish shape to it for comfort.  The front support is 6061 aluminum that has a mortise and tenon connection to the top, The legs are 2″ x 2″ solid aluminum that I shape on the bandsaw, sand and polish to a mirror finish.

The legs connect with 6061 aluminum round stock.  The footrest has two smaller aluminum bars connecting it to the back. This piece has a very simple modern design that features a black and polished aluminum look.  This piece is quite different from https://www.cosmobarbaro.com/product/bright-red-stool/ in the fact that it is much heavier and bulkier than the Bright Red Stool for instance.  In the future I would like to explore more minimal work like this Minimal Stool.   I enjoy simple clean design in all projects but particularly in mine.  This stool will last forever because it uses traditional joinery in this case a large finger joint.  The back features a simple cut revealing a clever profile.
